Young Fouad, the son of Adel Pasha, travels abroad to continue his studies. During his absence, Adel Pasha assaults Amina, the widow of Attia, the overseer of his estate. When she tells him she is pregnant, he cruelly expels her from the estate. Homeless and destitute, Amina gives birth to a baby girl named Nihad.
