Karin Viard, born January 24, 1966, in Rouen (France), is a French actress. She began her career in the 1980s after taking acting classes in Paris, with small roles in film and television. She gained recognition in Tatie Danielle (1990) by Étienne Chatiliez and Delicatessen (1991) by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro. Her career took off with leading roles in La Nage indienne (1993) and Les Randonneurs (1997). In 2000, she won the César Award for Best Actress for Haut les cœurs! (1999), followed by the César Award for Best Supporting Actress for Embrassez qui vous voudrez (2002). She won a third César in 2019 for Les Chatouilles. Her versatile acting, combining comedy and drama, makes her a major figure in French cinema.
